Shalom!
Every year around this time, I dedicate about a week to traveling to Colorado to participate in LightSys' annual Code-a-Thon, where we write software to serve Christian organizations and missionaries around the world. This year is no different, though the circumstances have certainly changed.

Who are LightSys? What is Code-a-Thon?
LightSys is a non-profit organization that provides software and IT consulting to missionaries and mission organizations. In doing so, their hope is to fulfill the Great Commission by making evangelism more efficient and effective through redeeming technology.
Every year LightSys hosts multiple "Code-a-Thon" weeks, purposefully scheduled during March so university students (and full-time engineers!) can dedicate their spring break to serving the Lord. Code-a-Thon is a weeklong event where teams from various universities travel to Colorado to work on various software projects submitted by missionaries or missions organizations. Although Code-a-Thon is typically catered towards university students, full time engineers (such as myself) are also welcome to join and have been known to participate in previous years

Who am I? How did I learn about Code-a-Thon?
I'm Andrew Woo. I am currently a full time Offensive Cyber, Software, and Reverse Engineer at Cryptic Vector. I graduated from GeorgiaTech with my bachelor's degree in computer science in 2024, and my master's degree in computer science in 2025.
I first learned about Code-a-Thon through a friend, who invited me to join her team during my final year
of undergrad, and I have participated every year since. This will be my third year participating in Code-a-Thon, and my first year as a full-time engineer.

What will I do?
Between March 21, 2026 and March 28, 2026 I'll be working with two other Code-a-Thoners (one high school student and one full-time engineer) to develop a machine learning tool to analyze SQL logs. In layman's terms, we will be building a tool to automatically detect and squash issues in a database, like resource exhaustion or even intruders, before they cause problems.

My ask.
Despite having graduated and working full time, my dedication to Christ—and especially His command in the Great Commission—remains unchanged. If anything, I feel an even greater sense of urgency and desperation to share Christ with those who do not know Him. Especially in these uncertain times with increased political turmoil and rising geopolitical tensions, the hope of Christ feels more needed than ever.
It is my firm belief that all Christians are called, in one way or another, to support the global mission of making disciples of all nations. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute my part and skills through this upcoming Code-a-Thon in Colorado.
Would you please consider supporting me in two ways? First, through prayer: that the Lord would use this time for His glory and the advancement of His Kingdom. And second, if you are able, through financial support, as I need to raise at least $500 to cover the costs of this effort.
In Christ,
Andrew Woo
"And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole
world as a testimony to all nations" – Matthew 24:14
Please pray...
  1. For the fulfillment of our financial needs,
  2. For adequate and diligent preparation before the trip,
  3. For our safety as we travel to Colorado Springs, Colorado,
  4. For knowledge and clear minds as we write code and do research,
  5. For our work to be honoring and glorifying to God,
  6. For the safety and security of missionaries around the world,
  7. For the evangelization of all peoples and all nations.
